How to wash your Alpaca socks

Here are our top tips on the best way to wash your alpaca socks to keep them luxuriously soft 

1. Choose Gentle Detergents

·           Use wool-safe or gentle detergents, no harsh chemicals or fabric softeners.

§  Clothes doctor – eco liquid detergent for cashmere and wool

·           Natural soaps are a great option for hand washing.

2. Use a Mesh Bag

·           Place socks in a mesh lingerie bag and use a wool cycle.

3. Skip the Tumble Dryer

·           Lay flat to dry, or hang on an airer NEVER tumble dry.

·           Keep them away from direct sunlight or heat sources to prevent fibre breakdown.

4. Store with Care

·           Roll or lay flat in a cool, dry drawer.

·           Avoid cramming them into tight spaces to preserve shape and elasticity.

5. Wash Less Often

·           Alpaca fibres are naturally odour-resistant and breathable.

·           Let them air out between wears to reduce washing frequency.
