Behind the scenes
Crafted with Care: British-Made, Sustainably Dyed
All of our luxurious alpaca socks are proudly knitted in a charming, family-run factory in Loughborough - J. Alex Swift. Established in 1895 and now in its fourth generation, the Swift family brings over 120 years of expertise to British hosiery. Their dedication to quality and craftsmanship is evident in every stitch, and we feel incredibly fortunate to collaborate with such a respected name in the industry.
At Perilla, we’re passionate about sustainability and supporting British manufacturing wherever possible. That’s why our socks are dyed in Yorkshire by Paint Box Textiles, a specialist company founded in 1996. Known for their work with niche products, Paint Box has become the go-to processor for high-quality dyeing and they bring our alpaca socks to life with their vibrant, lasting colours.
Working with these small, skilled British businesses allows us to maintain the integrity, quality, and sustainability that define our brand. It’s a partnership we’re proud of and one we hope you’ll feel in every pair.
