Our Commitments

Our Commitments

At Perilla, we believe that comfort should never come at a cost to the planet, the people who make the products, or the traditions behind them. Every pair of alpaca socks we create reflects the values we stand by; responsible sourcing, sustainable choices and unwavering support for British manufacturing.

Supporting British manufacturing

We are proud to work with a small family run factory in Loughborough that knits all of our socks. Every pair of Perilla socks is dyed, knitted and finished here in the UK, supporting local jobs, traditional skills and the future of UK textile production. For us "Made in Britain" is not just a slogan, it is a promise of care, integrity and exceptional workmanship.

We also source all of our Gift Hamper Extras from UK companies. Our candles and luxury tea bags are all made in England.

Sustainability at the Heart

Alpaca fibre is one of nature's most remarkable materials: warm, breathable, durable and biodegradable. It allows us to create long lasting products without relying on synthetic fibres or fast-fashion practices.
We design socks that are made to be worn, loved and kept (not thrown away). By choosing natural materials and timeless quality, we reduce waste and encourage thoughtful, sustainable buying.

Ethically Sourced Peruvian Yard

Our alpaca yarn is imported from Peru, where alpaca farming has been part of rural life for centuries. We work only with suppliers who uphold high welfare standards, fair working conditions and responsible land management.
These partnerships ensure that the fibre we use is traceable, ethically sourced and supports the communities who have cared for alpacas for generations.

A Better Way to Make Socks

Our commitments guide every decision we make - from the farms in Peru to the mills in Britain to the parcels we pack on our Worcestershire farm. We believe in doing things properly, choosing quality over shortcuts, and creating products that feel good in every sense of the word.
