Meet the New Team Behind Perilla

We’re Georgie, her son Hector, daughter-in-law Fleur, and daughter Tabitha. While this is a new venture for us, our connection to the textile industry runs deep, Georgie’s grandfather famously had the first-ever glove knitting machine in Scotland. That very machine is still proudly displayed in the museum in Dumfries!

Though our background is rooted in horses, we’re embracing this new journey with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a commitment to learning. We hope you'll be patient with us as we find our feet, and we truly look forward to sharing the adventure with you.

Meet the Team

Georgie

Role: Orders & Customer Service
Georgie holds a degree in Russian history but spent the last 20 years running an engineering company she inherited from her father. Her true passion lies with horses, she show jumped at the Horse of the Year Show in her youth, and now trains a small string of racehorses from the family farm in Worcestershire, where Perilla is now based.
Her proudest moment as a trainer? Guiding Sub Lieutenant to a 14th-place finish in the 2021 Grand National ridden by Tabitha, led up by Hector and Fleur. A true family affair!

Hector

Role: Accounts
A professional polo player and newly appointed managing director of the family engineering business, Hector also holds a degree in property and is currently developing flats alongside his sporting and business commitments. He and Fleur live in Oxfordshire and are both deeply involved in Perilla’s day-to-day operations.

Fleur

Role: Accounts
Fleur runs the office for a polo company and has a degree in Agriculture. She’s previously ridden in point-to-points and enjoys riding her lovely horse, Poppy, whenever she can. Her calm efficiency and love of the countryside make her a perfect fit for Perilla’s ethos.

Tabitha

Role: Sales & Marketing
Tabitha is a professional jump jockey with a degree in Sport Science. Racing has always been her passion, she won the Aintree Foxhunters in 2019 and is just a few winners away from riding out her claim. Her proudest achievements include winning the Perth Silver Cup on a notoriously quirky horse and completing the Grand National on a family-trained runner.

Our Vision

At Perilla, we’re committed to sustainability and quality. Our yarn is sourced from alpacas living a free-range life in the Peruvian Altiplano. Once in the UK, it’s knitted into our luxurious socks by a small, family-run factory in Loughborough. From there, the socks are dyed into our vibrant colour range by another local business, supporting small enterprises every step of the way.

Join Us on the Journey

Thank you for being part of our story. We’d love to hear from you, drop us a message, follow us on Instagram, or come say hello at our next tradeshow. Here’s to new beginnings and cosy toes!
